2/27/2019 0 Comments UnderglazesSo I choose to do the sgraffito. Though I made a big mistake it turned out well. I made a butterfly, so it would match the flower I have at home on my plate from sculpture one. My mistake was, that instead of underglaze, I accidentally used glaze, and then i put 5 layers, so it got really thick, and something this simple ended up taking more than 6 hours. But I am happy about my result, and can't wait for it to get fired.
**Post will be updated when the piece is completely finished.

2/27/2019 0 Comments Inspired artistThe artist I got inspired from is Brian Rochefort. He make such cool sculptures. I really like what he's doing with the glazes on top of each other with different textures. I really really love it, it is so cool!! It's like a 3D on a 3D piece. All those amazing details and different colors, he made a simple cup into a beautiful piece. About Brian Rochefort: - He lives and works in Los Angeles. - He works with glazes and clay. - He is 34 years old. - He is currently included in the museum exhibitions Regarding George Ohr at Boca Raton Museum of Art in Florida and From Funk to Punk at Everson Museum of Art in New York, both in 2017. - He does not have a web page. What inspires me is not just one thing about the piece, it's how he can turn a simple cup into something like this. I mean look at all those different colors, and all those amazing details. It looks like the glaze is dripping some places, and and then there's some texture in every "drip". Theres no empty "naked" space on it. And that he can get it all to go together, without making it look like it's too much. |
